chickpea gravy

3 cups soaked chickpea(soak them overnight or for 4-5 hours)
1 large onion
1 whole garlic pod
1 inch long ginger
2 green chillies
3 tomatoes (make puree)
1 tblspn chopped cliantro
1 tspn cumin seeds
1 bayleaf, 5-6 black pepper
1 and half tspn salt
1/2 tspn red chilly powder
1/2 tspn dry coriander
1 glass water
3-4 tblspn oil


boil the chickpeas add 1 glass water and 1 tspn salt and 1/4 turmeric
grind onion, garlic, ginger green chillies, cumin seeds, black pepper
heat oil and put the bayleaf in the oil add the grinded masala
saute for 5 mins.add the salt, turmeric and dry coriander powder
after a min add red chilly powder stir fry and add tomato puree
saute with the tomato puree for 7-8 mins on low flame
add chopped green coriander and stir fry for a min.
add the boiled chickpeas and its soup and let it simmer for 3-4 mins
savour this yummy recipe with steamed rice.
